The students have the opportunity to work with Polish artist, Magdalena Hawajska, in a labor of love. Holy Trinity School is helping Hawaiian artist Peggy Chun and Magdelana create a mosaic of Father Damien.

Using the hands of the children to paint the small squares, these two artists are collaborating to create a magnificent portrait of a blessed saint of the church. They hope to have the mosaic finished for the eagerly-anticipated cannonization of Blessed Father Damien.

This project is coordinated by 8th grade teacher, Shelly Mecum. Shelly is the best-selling author of "God's Photo Album" and current best-seller "The Watercolor Cat" written with Peggy Chun.
